East is 5 months

Easton is now 5 months! Still such a happy baby. Although for the past 2 weeks or so I think hes been going through a growth spurt. He hasn't been sleeping as well and just wants to eat, and eat, and eat! (the eating all the time part is kind of annoying, but it is helping me lose weight so I can't complain too much!)
He is scooting around like crazy! If he wants something he can definitely get to it. He can sit up for awhile on his own which he thinks is awesome. He has been getting up on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth for like 2 weeks now. We keep anticipating him to start really crawling any moment but it hasn't happened so far. He still is super happy and will smile at anyone who talks to him. It's great. He is still such a joy even when he has been Mr Grumpy pants for the past little while.
Last night, I laid him down to sleep on his back (like I always do). Well he kept making noises so I got up to check on him. By the time I had gotten up he was quiet. When I went to look at him he had rolled over and was fast asleep on his belly. Any of you moms know that we are warned against babies sleeping on the bellies and that coupled with the fact that I had a cousin die of sins, I was paranoid ALL night! Thankfully, he was humming in his sleep (he gets that from Gpa Rick) so I could hear him and know that he was alright. Plus, I kept reminding myself that he can roll both ways, lift himself up so he shouldn't have a problem not being able to breathe.
And now, he is hollering at me that he's ready to eat. Again. So farewell. I'll get pictures up soon! I promise!

Brand New House!

So, we bought a house. A brand new house! It was kind of crazy how it all came about. During December we started contemplating/praying/fasting about what we should do for the next school year. We were really hoping to move out of Utah, but that just wasn't in the plans. So, we talked more and more and felt that staying in Utah is what we were to do. We talked about buying a house but didn't think we would until the summer time. But we love to dream.
Over Martin Luther King Day weekend, we took a drive around some neighbor hoods just to see what was for sale. We then saw three houses for sale by Utah Housing Corp/Wasatch Housing Authority. We had talked to the Wasatch Housing Authority guy a couple of times before but weren't too sure what we wanted to do. But, now that we knew that we were sticking around we figured we would email him and see what he says. So, Tuesday (since Monday was the holiday) Andrew got a phone call from Gary (hes the Wasatch Housing Authority guy) saying to pick up an application, go apply for a loan, and get everything back to him ASAP, like that day! I was SO SO nervous! But we got everything ready and Andrew went and applied for a loan and then we waited. It seemed liked we waited forever to hear word but really it was only a day. Our loan officer let us know that we were preapproved and sent the letter off to Gary and then a couple of hours later, Gary called us and told us we were selected to buy the 4 bedroom 2 1/2 bath house! We were thrilled! Then we had to do some more waiting. But we ended up closing on February 27th. Just a little over a month from when we first saw the house! We love our new house! It is so nice having so much space. It isn't the perfect house, but its perfect for us right now. So we have 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and an unfinished basement and 2 car garage.
We are loving our new neighborhood. There are a lot of young families. There is a HUGE park right across the street from our house. We have awesome views of the mountains. When Im sitting in my bed, I can see the backside of Mt Timp. LOVE IT! We also have an awesome ward. It is HUGE though. On Sundays, the whole chapel is filled, as well as the overflow and they actually have assigned families to sit up on the stand and it just keeps growing. They are planning on splitting it when the new building is built, but there is speculation that they may not be able to wait that long. There are 4 nurseries and 3 sunbeams classes. Yeah, crazy big! But its fun and everyone is so friendly.
I thought we had pictures of the interior but I can't find them. So I will either find them or take new ones.

Kenadis 2nd Birthday!

Kenadi turned 2 on February 22. Can't believe how fast time is going! It seems so recent that she was born and we were going through this. I still worry about her and that something will happen, but everything shows that she is a healthy, active, sassy little girl. We love our tiny Kenadi. Funny story about Kenadi being little. Her and I went to Walmart a couple of months ago. We were in the baby aisle just looking around. A woman was looking at some baby shoes and asked me what size Kenadi wears. I told her shes a 5. She asked how old she was. When I told her she was almost 2 the lady was so surprised. She thought she was only about a year old. Thats Kenadi!
For Kenadi's birthday we kept it kind of low key. We hung out that day and played and had hot dogs for dinner (thats what she wanted!) We then took the kids to Build-a-Bear and they each got to make something. East just hung out in the stroller sleeping. Kenadi made a bunny wearing a BYU shirt (of course) and Jack made a bear with a Cars 2 shirt (of course). They had a LOT of fun doing that!
We then went home and got on webcam with my parents and Andrew's parents and she got to open her presents from them. Gotta LOVE webcam!! That was it for that day.
Saturday, Emily & Dylan, Kathy, and Adam & Arielle came up. We had cake and ice cream and had a fun time just visiting. All in all I think she had a great day!

Some little thoughts about Kenadi:
-My parents say she is JUST like me! I believe it.
-Last week in Nursery, the leader told my parents that Kenadi is a very good little girl but she does like things done her way. She was putting puzzles together with a little boy and he was doing it right so she would tell him, "No, like this!" She likes to do things HER way.
-She is definitely type A personality. I know shes only 2 but the kid is very particular about things. She FLIPS out if she gets even just a drop of water on her. She likes to sort through things and LOVES putting away the dishes.
-She has a temper! As Andrew would say, "her Latina flavor" came through. Boy, if she gets mad, she sure gets mad. Most don't believe it, but she can throw THE WORST tantrum you have ever seen. It is actually quite funny. She starts to cry so hard she falls on the floor and starts to flop around because of lack of oxygen. Yes, her lips have started to turn blue on many occasions. We are usually sitting right by her blowing in her face to try and get her to breathe. Luckily, she hasn't passed out yet.
-She LOVES her dresses! If one is laying on the ground, she'll pick it up and put it on. The other night we were on facetime with my parents and the kids and Kenadi had one of her dresses over the clothes she had been wearing that day. Even though she does that quite often it still makes me laugh.
-Her and my parents dog, Sophia, have a special relationship. They share food, tissues, Sophia licks Kenadis hands. Yeah, Kenadi has gotten quite sneaky about it now. She will share food when she thinks no one is looking and as soon as you say something Kenadi says, "Stop!" to Sophia and holds her hands up. And yes Kenadi has really shared a tissue with the dog. Kenadi needed to blow her nose so she grabbed a tissue. She wiped her nose, then Sophias, and then hers again. Writing this out makes us sound like we don't pay attention to what shes doing. We really do! She just is sneaky!
-She loves, babies, princesses, girly stuff, makeup and having her nails painted, but she also loves to play cars, and trucks and trains with Jackson! Her and Jackson usually play so well together. They also LOVE to play doctor with eachother. It's so cute.
-She also is SO SO clumsy! Our new running joke is that its a good week if we havent had to check her for concussion. She runs into walls, falls randomly, as my mom was saying if you blow on her she falls, she trips, shes tumbled down the stairs. Seriously, I am surprised we have not had to go to the ER or had any broken bones. I think we have had to hold rags on lips from more bloody lips or gums on her than we have with Jackson. Hes a boy AND older! Thats alright.
-She LOVES to cook! and Eat! I don't know where she puts it but she eats and eats. Although, she usually takes about an hour to eat a graham cracker when she has one for a snack so maybe thats part of it.

We love Kenadi! She is a lot of fun and brings a lot of laughter into our lives. Pictures will come soon.

One project down, many to go

I know I said I would update on everything that has happened in the past month, but I haven't had a chance to upload the bazillion pictures or even sat down at the computer. But, I am so excited to have the kids bathroom done I had to share!
I am pretty much in love with the wall color. Unfortunately, Andrew vetoed me painting the front door with it.
Anyways, since I'm blogging on my phone I can't change the order of the pictures (or maybe I can and just have no clue how to). So here are pictures of the bathroom. Isn't the toothbrush holder adorable? I still need to get some colored hand towels but I still love it!
Now to finish up painting the piano. I have one coat of primer done, but need to head back to Wally world for more foam brushes. (I broke one with in five minutes of painting. Super lame!!) thank goodness we have a Walmart here now!

Another month gone?

I just realized its been a month since I last posted but I have had good reasons. Kenadi turned 2!! We bought and moved into our first house!! (thank goodness my mom came to the rescue and helped us move). We've painted three bedrooms and the kids bathroom ceiling, I'm refinishing the piano and Easton is now 5 months!
Jackson and kenadi are in Oregon with my parents so it's just Easton Andrew and I. East is in my arms sleeping right now, but one of my goals for tomorrow will be to update on all of the things that have been keeping me from blogging.
Here are a couple pictures of the kids to hold you over until tomorrow.
