4 Months already!

Kenadi is 4 months now! I can't believe how quickly she is growing. She had her 4 month checkup and she is doing great! Her dr is really pleased with how well she is doing. I am pleased to add that her oxygen saturation was 100. I love it! Anyways, she is growing like a weed:

Weight 13.89 lbs 57.75%
Height 25.25 inches 85.09%
Head Circumfrence 16.25 inches 59.06%

She has grown a lot since coming home from the hospital. Just a note, when she came home 3 months ago she weighed 8.64 lbs. She has gained 5.25 lbs in 3 months! Way to go kid! So far, she is hitting all of the developmental milestones that every other 4 month old should. The nurse kept telling me how adorable she was. While she was measuring her and doing the inital checkup things Kenadi kept doing her little screaming thing (its hilarious, its like shes trying to talk to you but just screams instead), grabbing for the nurse's ring to try and eat it (she loves to stick things in her mouth), and then when the nurse was stretching her Kenadi started laughing so hard. It was great! The doctor mentioned that she is like an "opihi" (I think there was something else to it, but I cant remember). He said that that is a term of endearment that they use in Hawaii that means she is a tight cuddler. He said the opihi are a shell fish thing that cling to rocks in the water. He then explained how if you even cast a shadow on them they cling tighter to the rock so to get them off you have to slowly go from underneat with a knife and slowly pry them off and then you can get them off of the rock. I thought that was kind of a cool story. Anyways, he said that she is hitting allof her developmental milestones! Yay! She hasn't mastered rolling yet over completely yet, but she gets to her side very easily. She also can easily grab her toys and loves playing/chewing on them. Its so fun to watch her grow. Even though Jackson is only 20 months (21 months on the 1st- holy cow he is getting close to being 2!) I had forgotten all the little things that babies learn and the stages they go through. Its so fun! Also, her dr said she can start on baby food at any time we want. He also said that the american pediatrics came out and said that there is no longer a need to wait to start the meats, peanut butter etc unless there are already food allergies. He said that they recommended waiting on them because they thought that early introduction would cause food allergies, but they have found the complete opposite happening and there is a higher rate of food allergies. I was also glad to hear that my drs office participates in the studies for food as well as vaccines. Anyways, back to Kenadi, she is doing FABULOUS and the dr couldnt ask anything more. She will go to the neonatal follow up program in July and be evaulatued by neonatologists and even more specific drs like neurologists and such.

Colorado Vacation

Saturday night we got back from our trip to Colorado. We had so much fun! Thanks Rick, Pierette and Ben for letting us invade you guys for a week and a half. Jackson loved beingable to go outside and play pretty much whenever he wanted. Although for the first week or so he wanted someone out there with him, he eventually realized it was okay to play by himself out there. We went to the zoo, the aquarium, a childrens museum, riverwalk in Pueblo, shopping at Castle Rock outlets and just hung out. Jacksons absolute favorite thing was the aquarium. I think he probably could have stayed there all day.

Here are some pictures from the zoo. I swear I took a lot more, but my camera says that I did not. Who knows. Anyways, Jackson got to feed the giraffes. That was pretty cool. We have video of it somewhere.

Jackson on the train. He wasn't a big fan of it.
He liked the statue of a prarie dog.
Now pictures from the aquarium.
We had a really good time! Thanks for the great week!

Happy Birthday Andrew!

Saturday was Andrews 27th Birthday! It was a nice relaxing day. We didn't do anything too exciting. I made homemade biscuits and gravy (still need to work on the gravy but for a first try it was pretty good) and then we watched Night at the Museum 2 in the morning (gotta love free NetFlix trials!) and opened presents. We then went and ran a couple of errands to find fans that would not cut Jacksons fingers off and were successful. We had a lazy afternoon and then decided to go walk around the mall. It was a fun and relaxing day! I love days when we get to just hang out as a family.
Sunday we had Andrews big birthday dinner with Emily and Dylan. Per his request I made steak, twice baked potatoes, mashed potatoes and gravy, homemade oven fries and rolls. We also had corn and salad but it was mostly so we could say we did have some vegetables! I must say it all turned out delicious! Oh and I made a homemade icecream cake. It was a cookies and cream cake and boy, that was tasty!

Here are the pictures from his 2 birthday days

Heavy Heavy Hangover they poor head, what do you wish this person with a Bump on the head?!
Jackson really enjoyed Heavy Heavy Hangover
He wanted to make sure that Kenadi got in on the fun too!
MMM! Cookies and cream icecream cake!
These pictures are for you Pierette! We are keeping with tradition!
Happy 27th Birthday Andrew! We had fun celebrating with you!
p.s. Jackson is shirtless because dinner was all over his shirt. He usually wears a shirt.

How could I forget to put this in?

Okay, so all my posts are all out of order but at least they are on there. Anyways, on Memorial day, after the zoo we decided we would drive through Parleys and go to Park City to the outlet mall. Well we get there and it is packed. Im not saying like it is somewhat busy, I mean, every parking spot, even the ones in the boon docks where no one EVER parks was taken. So we decide that we would just go another day and instead drive around Heber. While we were driving to Heber Kenadi starts grunting which means she is either trying to poop or actually pooping. I didnt think much of it though because that is obviously a normal occurence. Since I needed to feed Kenadi we decided to drive over to Andrew's classroom, only to realize he didnt bring his keys. That was alright, I would just feed her in the car no big deal. Andrew pulls her out and says, "Poor kid is soo sweaty! and stinky!!" Just then he realized that her poop had gone ALL OVER! I mean to her shoulders! Luckily for me Andrew offered to take care of the mess. I think we have really only had 2 times that she has blown out of her diaper which is pretty amazing considering that she has some forceful poop. Anyways, luckily we had brought a change of clothes for her and had a plastic bag in the car to stick her stinky clothes and carseat butt pad. I wish I had taken a picture of the disaster she caused..it was everywhere and poor Andrew had it on his shirt. Well, she was finally taken care of so I take her and start to feed her. Andrew asks Jackson if he wants to get out to go throw away the diaper. Jackson of course says yes so Andrew pulls him out and his butt is all wet! Andrew kinda laughs and says, "Jack peed through his diaper!!" Luckily we had extra clothes for him and once Andrew started changing him we realized that he really didnt pee through his diaper he had just spilled his water bottle. Definitely not as bad! But oh what a day! It definitely made us laugh.

One more story...yesterday I was doing our laundry as normal and when I pull out the colors load out of the dryer, the first shirt I grab is spotted red. As I continue looking it has more then just spots of red. It was almost looked like it had been tye dyed red and green. First I think, well maybe the red velvet cake got on the shirt so that would explain the red but what about the green. I ask Andrew if he had green pens. He said he didnt. (There have been a couple of loads of laundry lost to pens left in pockets, you think I would learn). Anyways, I continue looking and about half of the load had green and red specks but nothing quite as bad as the first shirt. As Im spray and washing the clothes Andrew says he thinks its crayon. crayon? Hmm, I couldnt think where teh crayon would come from and then I remembered. We had gone to dinner on Friday (maybe it was Saturday) and I had taken the crayons away from Jackson and put them in my pocket. I was the culprit!! Well, after washing the clothes 3 times using laundry detergent, spray and wash and vinegar it finally all came out with the exception of some on Jacksons basketball shorts. Im thinking it has to do with the type of material because the rest of the clothes were cotton. Man was I relieved because I had new clothes in there. Maybe this will teach me to ALWAYS check the pockets. I just get too hurried because usually there is a kid crying while Im putting the laundry in.

Keep scrolling after the first post there are more!

20 months!

Today Jackson is 20 months! Holy cow! In 4 months he is going to be 2! That is so strange to think I will have a 2 year old! He is at such a fun age. He is really trying to talk now. He still doesnt say a whole lot but he is adding new words every day. If only he would consistently use them! He is very tidy still. He doesnt like messes which is good for us.
The other day I spilled the powdered sugar, but was in a hurry (I think I was getting ready for church), so I just left it and figured I would clean it up as soon as I was done. Well, Jackson didn't like that it was messy so he grabbed the broom and went to work. Sure he ended up pushing it more into the closet but that point is that he knew exactly what to do and really tried to help me out. Andrew actually took these pictures and came in and told me that Jackson wasnt happy that I left the mess and had to clean it up after me.

He is so funny. He falls asleep in the most random ways sometimes. As my mom said, "He looks like a grandpa" haha
I love having Jackson around! He is so fun (most of the time). He has a very strong personality and if he doesnt want to do something he is not going to do it no matter what. He loves to read and play with his balls. He is turning into quite the little soccer player and is practicing dribbling. Most of all he loves his dad! When Andrew comes home it is like the sun has come out for Jackson. It so cute how much fun they have together.

3 months old!

Kenadi turned 3 months on the 22nd! I can't believe how time is flying! It seems like forever ago that she was born. She is such a happy baby. She rarely cries so when she does you know somethings up. Even at night, she doesnt usually cry just starts to stir to let me know shes hungry. She is super smiley and loves to laugh. She tries to sit up on her own. Its hilarious! Ill lay her in her boppy and she'll pull her head to her chest trying to sit up straight. She sometimes likes to sit in the bumbo but only for a limited time and as long as you are there to entertain her. We just realized that she is double jointed in her thumbs like Jackson. It freaked me out the other day when I saw her thumb in a very abnormal position but then realized its because she is double jointed. So weird! She loves Jackson and rarely cries when he soemtimes is a little too rough. We love having her with us. She definitely is a little joy- especially when you hear her "talk" and laugh. Still need to figure out how to get the sound clips up.
Hmm...I think we've seen this before..Jackson used to sleep like this all the time. We call it the "TouchDown Jesus" position because of this
Oh, and just right now as Im typing, Kenadi is sitting next to me in her boppy and Jackson is playing with her hands making all sorts of noises and she is making noises back to them. If only I could understand what they are talking about.

Memorial Day!

Since Andrew had the day off yesterday thanks to Memorial day, we decided to take a trip to the zoo. We thought Jackson would enjoy seeing all the animals. He did enjoy the animals, but he really enjoyed the water, bushes/flowers/trees and people. He is such a little people watcher. Here are some pictures from our day. As you can tell he didnt really want to look at the camera so I got a lot of pictures of the back and side of his head.
This is how Kenadi spent the day
