Thats our son!

So yesterday the 4 of us went out to the little park in our complex. Kenadi and I headed in before the boys because I had to check on dinner. Andrew and Jack came in and Andrew tells me that Jackson started to cry and the only way he got him to stop was by telling him that he would get to wash his hands. I heard this and thought yeah, he must have said something else also, like promised him chocolate. Anyways, today Jackson, Kenadi and I went to the park. It was time for lunch so I told Jackson we had to go. He kept shaking his head no and wanting to keep going down the slide. So I tried Andrew's trick. I told Jackson, "Hey lets go inside and you get to Wash Your Hands!! After I said that he looked at me, shook his head and said, "Yeah!" in his cute little voice that he does. He loves to wash his hands, with soap even!
In other Jackson news, he is starting to eat meat again (other than chicken nuggets). For about 6 months (I think, can't quite remember when he stopped) he did not like to eat any type of meat other than chicken nuggets. We would force him to try it and then he would gag and choke and spit it out. Gross! But, two days ago he took 2 bites of baked chicken- this was huge and Andrew and I were both really shocked. Then yesterday, we had hamburger helper and he ate all the ground beef in it! Then today, when we were eating lunch he asked for some of my chicken and ate it! What?! So hopefully we are over that phase. Who doesnt like meat? So weird!
Here are some pictures from yesterday and today:
Right after I had put his diaper on he proceeded to try and pull it down. Nice look!
He still loves to sit with her and asks to hold her multiple times a day. Seems like his favorite time to ask to hold her is when I'm nursing. Go figure!
Jack In The Box
He covered himself up without any help when he was taking his nap. I can't believe how big and independent he is getting.

I know, Im a slacker!

Okay, I know it has been awhile since I have posted. Jackson and Kenadi are doing great! Jackson is starting to enter into the terrible twos. He is still really good but occasionally he gets into this I'm going to do this even though you just told me not to and laugh about it. Yeah, not so fun to deal with but its all part of having kids right? Anyways, he is starting to try and talk more and more. His favorite words include ball, that, this, yeah, nah, WOW, milk (mek) and oooh. He is finally showing  more interest in trying to talk. He was doing really good then decided he didnt care so much but he is backto trying to talk (thank goodness because uh uh uh gets annoying fast!)
Kenadi is doing awesome! She had her 2 month checkup yesterday (I cant believe she is two months!) The dr was very pleased with how well she is doing. He even mentioned that normally kids with diaphragmatic hernias have certain sounds in their lungs but she doesn't have it at all. He even listened to her twice to make sure. He said that her left lung must be really good tissue and growing really well. I was super happy to hear that. She weighs 10 lbs 9 oz! Her length was measured at 21.75 inches and last time was 22 inches. He kind of laughed at that and said, "Well obviously we didnt stretch her enough!" Which it was a new nurse training so that didnt really surprise me. She also had her vaccines which she did not like at all! She didnt mind the liquid one she has to drink but once the shots came she was not a happy camper and her legs hurt all day! But I am glad to say that I didnt even tear up watching her get the shots! I always tear up when Jackson would get his shots so evidentely seeing her at a lot worse state has toughened me up a bit!
Okay, now the part everyone wants to see. Here are some pictures:
Lately Jackson has been falling asleep for his nap like this:
Jackson loves to lay next to Kenadi. He loves to hold her and asks to hold her quite a bit. This morning Kenadi was sitting in her boppy on the couch with me and Jackson comes up to her grabs her hand rubs his head with it and then gives her a kiss without any prompting. So cute! he will ALWAYS give her a kiss goodnight but rarely me. oh well! At least he loves his sister!
Kenadi with her Great Great Grandpa Olson.
Dylan & Emily with Kenadi. They hadnt seen her since she came home because they were sick, but we finally got to hang out with them on Friday and it sure was fun! We've missed our friends!
Kenadi is definitely a morning baby! She is always so happy in the morning! She was being so cute and smiley so of course we were taking pictures! She only lasted about an hour in this cute outfit and then she spit up. She was spitting up a lot today! We went through 4 outfits. After two cute ones I decided to just do a onesie and little pants. It was a good decision!
These were from a couple of days ago. She was super smiley!
So, after I had uploaded the pictures from my camera I realized that I did not take ANY when Isabella and Bobbie were here. We had so much fun with them. Bellies is so adorable! One of my favorite times was in the morning when Bobbie was showering. Id have the three kids on my bed and we would just play! It was so great! Now my poor sister and niece are stuck in Medford because of the Volcano in Iceland. We are praying that the winds starting heading north in hopes that they can fly home. Her two girls and husband are missing her! Hopefully hopefully they will get to fly home Sunday! Thanks for coming Bobbie and Bellies! We love you and cant wait to see you again!

They arrived!

Bobbie and Isabella made it here Monday night. It is so fun having them here! We have really enjoyed them being here. Isabella is adorable. She is almost as big as Jackson yet she is 11 months younger. We aren't sure if shes on the big side or if Jack's on the small side- probably a bit of both. Anyways, here are pictures of Isabella and Kenadi. Isabella was so cute and being so gentle with Kenadi. At one point they were making noises back and forth to eachother, so funny! They are only 6 months apart but Isabella looks so much older and bigger!
Jackson wanted to get in on the picture action so he asked (in his way) Bobbie to take his pictures in the bouncer. Hes such a goof ball!
Kenadi had her follow up appointment with the surgeon on Monday. She weighs 10.6 pounds. She has gained 2 pounds in the 2 weeks that she has been home! Holy Moly Cow! Anyways, the surgeon said that she looked great! The surgeon did have us run down and have a chest xray done so I dont know what the results of that were, but pretty sure everythings fine otherwise they would have called us. She will need to have a chest xray done yearly for 5 years. Anyways, here are some cute pictures of her from the other day.

Happy Easter!

This morning we had a little Easter egg hunt with Jackson. He loved just getting the eggs and opening them up. He is a candy lover! Here are videos of the morning. Some may be long

Oh, I have to put these pictures up! So Jackson loves holding Kenadi. This morning he wanted to hold her so Andrew sat them on the couch together. Jackson started rubbing Kenadis head and she just thought it was great! I wish I would have just taken a video of it, instead heres a little series of pictures of the two of them.

Easter Eve

We had a lot of fun last night coloring eggs and painting the kids easter buckets (yes we do buckets). Jackson did awesome! He did try to lick up the egg coloring water (yuck!) but he wasn't covered head to toe in it so ill take it. Here are a couple pictures and a couple videos of the egg dying.

Now here are some pictures and video of us painting the buckets. Jackson loved it! He chose what colors he wanted to use. We are definitely going to have to paint more with him. Thank goodness bobbie sent us no mess crayola paint pens- we are so busting those out.

Just some pictures

I decided to coordinate how Jackson and Kenadi were dressed so here are some cute pictures of them. In the last picture, Jackson is trying to read her his book. We did get a video of it but then realized our camera was set on time lapse and so it is like watching them in fast forward. Well, I didnt originally put that video up but Andrew decided that I should put it up, so it is now up.  I also put up a video of Jackson just playing around. I was too lazy to cut the video so it wouldnt be as long, so in the middle of it Jackson starts playing the piano and does a quick little dance. Its a video for the grandparents.

More Pictures

Well Ive been slacking and not updating the blog. Jackson & Kenadi definitely keep me busy, but somehow I have been managing my time better and am able to keep our house clean and laundry up. Kenadi is doing great! You can definitely tell she is packin' on the pounds- especially in her cheeks! Her reflux has been acting up the past couple of days which is requiring a lot more laundry on my part. This morning she managed to have me go through 3 shirts, 2 shirts for her, and a set of sheets. Yeah it was quite the day. Im still trying to figure out what makes it worse for her. So far Ive figured out that spicy things make it worse- so no more spicy salsa for me for awhile (bummer!)
This morning we were laying on the bed and Jackson went and laid next to Kenadi. Kenadi started swinging her arms which was hitting Jack. He thought it was so funny and was laughing hysterically.
Jack took my hair tie out of my hair and was trying to put it into Kenadis hair.
She was very smiley this morning.
Just hanging out in her bed.
More smiles. Pretty sure this one was because she just spit up on me and knew it went down my shirt (what a lovely feeling).
Jackson was in the kitchen helping me cook dinner. Well he grabbed the spatula off the counter and proceeded to dip it into the butter and then lick the spatula clean. What a kid!
This was a couple of days ago. They slept like this for 2 hours!
Yes, she holds her own binkie. Pretty funny. Sometimes she even puts her finger into the hole and sucks on it that way.
Heres a little video of her just hanging out. Nothing exciting but Im sure her grandparents will appreciate it.
(If you hear Jack crying in the background he was mad it was bedtime)
