Baby Shower

Okay, so I have totally slacked and not posted about my wonderful baby shower. Dan and Sharryll called me out on this one, haha, so I dedicate this post to them. But, in my defense my family was in town this whole past week. Anyways, the baby shower was so great! I was so lucky to have my mom, sisters (minus Bobbie who is far far away in England), grandma, Andrews mom and two grandmas and aunt all there. Emily and Kathy did such a wonderful job! We got tons of clothes for Jackson- tons and tons! Here are pictures from the day. (I should add a disclaimer, I choose the pictures that were most flattering for everybody. I really tried to get the best ones!)
Andrew's mom, me, my mom

Top row: Andrews mom, Nana Bev (Andrew's grandma Muffler), my mom Bottom Row: Grandma Lahoff (Andrew's mom's mom), Me, my Grandma Trapp

All of the family: Aunt Kathy, Andrew's mom, Nana Bev, my mom, Nicole & Shannon (my sisters), Grandma Lahoff, Me, Grandma Trapp

Overall, the shower was so great! I am so thankful for everyone who came! It was great to have so many friends and family there. I would post more pictures, but the ones that I have are of me opening presents so not very exciting. Haha.

Well, I should probably do a baby update. I am now only a month away from my due date so he can come any day now basically- which would be super fantastic. I go to the doctor every week now. I went on Friday and everything is looking good. They are watching my blood pressure closely because it is kind of high but so far everything else is good. Now if only we could get Jackson to turn and come out! Haha- Andrew has been making me walk so much that my poor feet look like clubs and I now have cankles- sad day. Lol. Thats alright. We are so excited to really be in the home stretch now.

All about Jack

Last night we went to the Jack Johnson concert up at the Usana Ampitheater with Emily and Dylan. It was a BLAST! Can I say that Jack Johnson is a very good entertainer. It was also enjoyable to watch all the drunk people around, it reminded me of going to the Britt Festival in Oregon. When we first got there two drunk guys hit on Emily and I. Mind you this was the beginning of the concert so how they were already drunk I have no idea! Later that night, a VERY VERY drunk girl came up to Dylan while we were sitting in our seats and started dancing around him. It was HILARIOUS!! The other great part was the drunk lady two seats in front of us- she was with her daughter and who we assume was her daughters boyfriend, and the woman was absolutely plastered! Everytime she came back to her seat it was with a different guy. Very funny. Needless to say, the concert could have sucked and we still would have enjoyed just people watching. It was great! We also had some highschool students in front of us (4 of them, 2 guys 2 girls- double date kinda thing). Anyways, we are all very grateful that we are past that part of our life. One of the guys really wanted to hold the girls hand but was too chicken! We were all sure that he would, but he did not. Anyways, here are some cool pictures from the concert.

Before the concert
During the concert while Jack Johnson is singing

Jack Johnson singing (Awesome!)

We all had a lot of fun. I was kind of unsure about being at a concert in August at 8 months pregnant, but it worked out really well. We had seats and so that helped a lot and for most of the concert we were able to sit down. Towards the end, everybody was standing, but I didn't mind, I just stayed sitting- you don't really need to see the person to be able to hear him singing. It was pretty funny, because Jackson was still for most of the concert and then when everybody was clapping and yelling for an Encore I think it scared him half to death because he shook quite a bit and then was moving a lot! I don't think he liked that, but it made me laugh. Also, Andrew thought it would be good for Jackson to have his first concert t-shirt. He found this onesie for Jackson.

In other Jackson news, Friday I had another doctors appointment and everything is still looking good. We are getting down to the final weeks! We are so excited. This week I was only measuring 2 weeks ahead- so I still measured at 35 weeks like I did at my last appointment. My doctor wasn't worried about it because she said baby's grow in spurts so we will have to wait and see where we are at next week.

Baby Registry

So, tonight Andrew decided that we should register at Target for Jackson. We went with Emily and Dylan which was great other than the fact that Andrew and Dylan got trigger happy with the gun. Andrew pretty much registered for everything that he saw so sorry if you see some random things- its all Andrew's fault. I tried to delete the ones that seemed really ridiculous (I won't go into detail as to what those were) but probably failed to get a lot of them off.
Emily and I did learn a good lesson though- NEVER let Andrew and Dylan use the scan guns to register for things- they'll go CRAZY!

Still Measuring Big :(

So today I had my doctors appointment. It was pretty uneventful for the most part, other than the fact that I was measuring 35 weeks and Im only 31 weeks. Not so good. But my doctor didn't seem too concerned by that. Andrew thinks that this means Jackson is going to be a 10 pound baby. Boy, I hope not! That was pretty much it.
Yesterday, Andrew measured me around to see what my circumfrence was- it was 41 inches. Holy Hannah that sounds big! Haha.
I now start going to the doctor every two weeks. Woo hoo the end is nearing!
Well other that that, nothing else is going on. Ill let you know if something exciting happens.

I cut 8 inches off so Andrew decided he needs to too!

So yesterday, I am sitting at work and I get a page. Its Andrew. The first thing he says to me is, "Christina, I shaved my head" I say, "What do you mean you shaved your head." He said, "well it was an accident." Okay, my first reaction is how in the world do you accidentally shave your head? I mean honestly isn't it pretty clear if you are going to shave your head? Anyways, he proceeds to tell me that he had cut his hair (which he does on a weekly basis and if he didnt then none of this ever would have happened) and that while he was trimming the back of his neck the clippers, which were set at a 1 (really short) slipped up the back of his head. When he felt the strip he realized that there was no way to try to disguise it so he then shaved the rest of the back of his head along with the sides, leaving the top long. That is when he came over to work and I look at him and immediately start laughing. I am laughing so hard that I start crying (but I think part of the crying was also due to how UGLY it looked). So heres a visualization. The sides and back are shaved down to the skin and then it is long on top- he has an UGLY MARINE HAIRCUT! I freak and tell him Im not going anywhere with him, not even to church. Anyways, we both decide that it would be best just to shave it all off- at least then it wont look so ridiculous. Actually, now that I am used to it it isn't all that bad- he looks pretty nice. Good thing he doesn't have a weird shaped head. But here is a picture of the final product.
And don't worry, I did go to church with him.

The Creative Workings of Emily

So yesterday evening, my best friend (well girl best friend because Andrew is my boy best friend- anyways) told me that we should take some belly pictures. Well, she is a fabulous photographer cause as you can see from my new header she was able to take pictures of Andrew and I and make us look good! She also designed my header- how cool is that?? Also, here is another one that she designed for us. So cute!!

So, if you ever need a really good photographer- I know one!! Her name is Emily Thornton. You're the greatest Emily- thanks for doing our pictures. (I don't mean to leave you out Dylan, so thanks for helping her set everything up!)

Holy Hannah it's HOT!!

Well on Saturday Andrew I driving around town (like we usually do on Saturdays) trying to figure out what to do. Anyways, we stopped to get some gas and we see the Walgreens sign and it says that is is 140 degrees! Holy COW! I thought it was hot but I didn't realize it was THAT hot! Anyways, here's a picture PROVING that it said it was 140 degrees!

Cat in the House

So last night or rather very early this morning at like 3 in the morning I hear meowing. At first I think that I am at my parents house so I disregard it, then I remember that we dont have a cat. So then I think that maybe the cat is just outside. But then I remembered that our bedroom window wasn't even open so even if the cat was outside the sound shouldn't be that loud. So I venture from my bed and see a CAT running from the living room into the kitchen. Freaked me out!! So being so not brave I go back to the bedroom and wake Andrew up. I tell him that there is a cat in the house so what should we do. He asks me if I want to keep it. I quickly tell him no. He says okay, then we'll get some shirts and we'll shoo the cat out. I say okay. So we find some shirts and Andrew goes out first (for some reason I was really freaked out at having a stray cat in the house). Anyways, as Andrew went out the cat went sprinting for the kitchen window where it came in. No worries, it wasn't a window over a counter or anything, its the one by our refrigerator that we keep open all the time. Anyways, the cat left and I checked the house for poop and throw up. I go back to bed and think that Jackson was still sleeping, but oh no. A few minutes later I feel him hopping around. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep after 3:00. But thats alright. Now I know that there are stray creepy cats around so I should only leave the window about an inch open.

Baby Update

Well, I forgot to post an update about Jackson in my last one so here goes. Tuesday I had a doctors appointment and my doctor said that everything is going great! I am measuring about 2 weeks ahead which is what happened at the last appointment but she said that I carry him kind of high so that is probably why. She also said that at the last ultrasound (about 2 and a half weeks ago) that he was measuring in the 50% so he is not overly large (thank goodness). We had to have an ultrasound done because they thought there was a calcium deposit on his heart which is a soft marker for down syndrome. So we went to the perinatologist (a specialist in fetal development) and had an ultrasound done. It was pretty cool because the ultrasound was much clearer than a standard one. The ultrasound technician also explained what the different shades of gray are. The doctor also clicked a button and it showed the blood flow in the heart and also in the umbilical cord. It was pretty cool. Anyways, the doctor said that there isn't any mark in his heart and everything else is really good. At that time he was weighing about 1 pound 12 ounces and he still has a round belly (like grandpas- both, haha love ya guys). Well, I would post a cool picture of his profile that we got from this ultrasound, but I have this nasty cold which pretty much prevents me from wanting to do anything (thank you Andrew and Ryan). So another thing to have Andrew do when he has the chance.

Past week fun

Well, last Saturday was my sister Nicole's birthday. So since we are the only family that she has (well she has other family obviously, but we are the only family in Utah) we decided to have her over for dinner. We also invited Emily and Dylan (I know, you guys are all shocked that they came over). Anyways, we had yummy hamburgers and delicious watermelon and chips- pretty standard 'American' food which is what she wanted. I also decided to experiment and make a cake like a jelly roll cake- which I have never done before and it was pretty delicious. It was white cake with yummy homemade strawberry freezer jam (thank you Emily), whip cream (everything is better with whip cream) and fresh strawberries. Here is a picture:

So anyways, after we had cake and opened her presents, we decided to go bowling. Andrew and I haven't been real bowling in FOREVER. I mean we have bowled on the Wii but not quite the same thing. Anyways, it was pretty entertaining. Plus, being pregnant I didn't think that that would make quite a difference but oh it does...I almost fell over a couple of times. Haha.

Andrew's GIANORMOUS FEET!

My cute sister Nicole.

Sean and Nicole- Sean is Nicoles new 'special friend'

Andrew and I.

Well, we also went to a concert on Monday for UVUphoria. Andrew had bought tickets like months ago and so we invited Nicole and she brought Sean along. The best part was that Nicole wore a skirt to a concert that we were sitting in the grass. Love you Nicole but I will never let you live that one down. Anyways, we saw okay, I can't remember right now. But it was country singers. The only one that I can remember is Joe Nichols and we left before he started to perform. The middle performer was really good. When Andrew gets home I'll have him update as to who we listened to. Haha. Here's Andrew and I at the concert.

Andrew's add-in: Okay so I can't believe that Christina could only remember the name of the person we didnt see haha, must be some kind of pregnancy brain memory thing, she blames everything else on it, lol. Anyways it was Collin Raye who was the middle singer who she really liked, he played a lot of his classics like, One Boy, One Girl and Thats my Story and Love me. All really good songs which Christina enjoys but had no clue that he sang them. The other singer was Josh Gracin. He did alright, considering that he was an American Idol, No offense.

Look at that basketball

So Christinas family came this week to bring Christina's sister Shannon to EFY and to drop Nicole off for summer school. Well they went to the zoo and took these pictures. I figured I should post them so that everybody can see Christinas belly!

Happy Birthday Andrew!!

Well, it was Andrew's 25th birthday last Thursday which makes him a quarter century old! ANCIENT! Okay, not really, but we had a lot of fun on his birthday. We decided to stick to tradition and celebrate with our friends, Emily and Dylan (i know what a surprise! haha). I am so glad I was feeling better because we had decided to have steaks, twice baked potatoes, salad and yummy yummy tres leches cake from the Panaderia here. Dylan grilled the steaks up for us and they were Delicious! Our favorite show was even on- So You think you can dance- man could the day get any better??! Anyways, Dylan and Emily got Andrew two of his favorite things- a case of diet coke and an i-tunes card. Well, the only thing Andrew really wanted was a new tv (WAY out of the budget) or Dish TV (also out of the budget) so what did I get him? A sign for the house- its a cute framed sign that says 'Simplify'- I know a weird gift to get for a guy, but he really wanted it awhile ago but he decided not to get it. I also got him a couple of bottles of hand sanitizer- another weird gift, but if only you realized how many times he uses hand sanitizers its really a very useful thing for him. I got him the George Strait cd- it has the "I saw God today" song on it- which he loves! Finally I got him new pillows. See a couple of weeks ago he mentioned needing a new pillow because his were really old and yellow. So I got him new pillows. I know I did not really get him much, but we had done some pre-birthday shopping for him and got him some new clothes- so Im not compeltely lame! haha, here are some pictures:

The next pictures are especially for Andrew's Mom

Bird Poop, Jackson, our Anniversary and baby presents!

Alright, so the only reason I am posting about this is because Andrew is so fet up with this that he even took pictures and asked me to post about it. Okay, so I need to give you some background information. For about the past two weeks, every morning when we go out to our car there is bird poop all over it. Wait, not all over it, just on the door, especially the door handles. If we clean it up, inevitably it will be back the next day plus some. So yesterday morning, we wake up and it is ALL OVER the car. i mean all over. Lucky for us, Andrew had a free carwash so we went and got it wash. It looked BEAUTIFUL and CLEAN and SHINY! This morning we wake up and what do we see as we go out to our car. BIRD POOP! But more than yesterday. Andrew counted 10 DIFFERENT spots where they had hit our car. So sad!

In other family news, Tuesday Andrew and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary. My how time flies! We didn't do anything really that day because we wanted to spend time with Andrew's parents who were in town for the week. We had a a great time with his parents here. Tuesday, we also got to have our 20 week ultrasound done. I was actually 22 weeks but its all good. Jackson is a nice healthy little boy! Woo hoo! He does have a very round stomach, which Andrew's mom says is just like his daddy, I mean grandpa! But, we were very excited to see that Jackson is doing well and healthy. He has been moving a lot more now and Andrew has been able to feel him a couple of times. I have even been able to see my stomach moving because of him. Talk about weird! It totally reminded me of, well, I don't really know how to describe this but I think I saw it in a movie one time. Anyways, where the aliens are in a sack like thing trying to break out. yeah, I dont know if you know what Im talking about, but thats what it looked like.

Also, my older sister Bobbie sent us a package filled with things for Jackson. They were all wrapped so cutely, and we were supposed to wait, but we gave in and decided to open them. She got us the cutest things! Thanks Bobbie! We Love you and wish you would be here when he comes.

Half Way There!!

Well, I have finally reached the 20 week mark. It was actually Monday, but yeah I am moving a little slow at updating the blog. We went to the doctor on Friday and everything is going great. She said that I was measuring right on and I had even gained two pounds (I think it helped that I made sure to wear jeans and a sweater, as well as my watch and other jewlry). Andrew has basically been force feeding me when im not hungry. I'll just mention that something sounds delicious and he will get it for me. Today I went to the grocery store and when I came home and Andrew was going through the groceries he asks me, "Were you hungry while you were there?" Yeah, I was because I ended up with a loaf of french bread (so yummy to eat on the way home) and cheetos, tortilla chips and everything for homemade salsa. I originally went for milk and eggs and ended up with a cartload. I told Andrew that I think Jackson will LOVE mexican food. I crave mexican food AT LEAST 1 a week.
Anyways, I have my 20 week ultrasound next Friday (not tomorrow the following Friday). They are just going to check the growth of the baby and make sure that everything is good there. I don't mind, I love being able to see him! Speaking of Jackson, he is moving like crazy. Yesterday I had my hand on my belly and FINALLY felt him on the outside. Im pretty sure he just likes to kick straight out. Anyways, I told Andrew to come over and feel it and of course, he stops moving! Andrew was bummed, but hopefully within a couple of weeks his kicks will be harder all the time so we can feel him easier on the outside.
Well, thats all for now, I'll write again when i am bored.

Baby Names

So we are like 5 months away from the baby being born, but hey we understand the importance of a name, in fact the other day I read somewhere that if a boy has a weird first name, he is like 70 percent more likely to end up in a mental hospital. So its important that we choose a semi normal name and one that has a little bit of meaning to it. I thought, "hey let's see what names other people like." So here is a spot where you can add your ideas. Put anything you think is cool, even if its semi weird. My brother Adam said Sandakan, weird, but thats alright, he's on a mission, he doesnt know anything. Haha. But yeah, I'm excited to read your ideas.

And Baby Muffler is...

Well, Andrew won the bet. We are having a BOY!!! We went and had an ultrasound done today and I was so happy because Andrew and my best friend Emily were able to come with me. We are so very excited! I really thought it was a girl but OBVIOUSLY I was wrong. Haha. So the boys have taken it! The ultrasound tech said that it was pretty definite that it was a boy. As she said "he definitely has a little package." Haha. There are more ultrasound pictures to come..I need to rescan them so that they can be big like these. The one on the right is his face (I know he looks alittle scary). As Juno would say, "Im pretty sure it looks like a sea monkey right now, so we'll just let it get a little cuter!" And then the bottom one is the showing that hes a boy! We are absolutely
thrilled. It actually makes me feel like I really am
pregnant now..I mean I don't look pregnant and other than feeling sick don't really have anything else to tell me I am pregnant. Well after the ultrasound, Emily and I went to Old Navy and found the cutest little boy stuff. So we bought some! It is so adorable! Don't worry as soon as I am not working I will upload some more photos for you guys to see!! Love you all!

Dr. Appointment

Well, today I had my check up. Nothing too exciting, just the typical weight, blood pressure, etc. We did get to the hear the heartbeat. It was a nice strong, fast little heartbeat. My doctor didn't measure what the exact heart rate was so I dont know, but it sure sounded pretty fast. I still haven't gained weight. In fact, from last time I was a half a pound lower, but my doctor rounded up so it wouldn't look like I lost weight. She wasn't concerned about this, but she did say I better gain weight by my next appointment which is in 4 weeks.
The most exciting part of the appointment was that I asked her if it is accurate to find out the gender and she said yes! So next Friday, the 18th, we go in first thing in the morning to find out the gender!! Woo hoo!! So far though, everybody is voting its a girl. I think only Andrew and my sister Shannon are thinking its a boy. Although, I do know Ryan is hoping for a boy as well! So, if you haven't already voted, vote now, because in a week we will know if its a girl or a boy! We are so excited!!!

HOCKEY GAME!!

So Friday night we went to the Grizzlies hockey game up at the E-Center in Salt Lake. We went with Emily and Dylan and Aaron and Michelle. It was so much fun! The best part was watching the players beat at eachother. I mean honestly, who doesn't like to see people fight?! (Yes, I even remembered my glasses so I could actually see what was going on).

Baby On The Way

Well, as many of you know but many of you may not know, I am pregnant! Yes, it is true, there is a little Muffler on the way. I am 14 weeks along (as of today) and I think that I am past all the sickness! Woohoo! We will be able to find out in two weeks if its a girl or a boy (I think its a girl, Andrew has no clue and my younger sister is convinced its a boy). But, as a couple of you have already seen, we put a poll up so you can make your choice. Its open until Oct 3 because by then I should have had the baby (Im due Oct. 1st, the day before my birthday, random huh?). So anyways, go ahead take a pick and we will see in a couple weeks!

My Cousin seeking Her true loves Kiss!

Now many of you have seen the movie Enchated, which can I say is AMAZING. Anyways, back to the real point of this post. What many of you don't know is that the Princess Giselle is really our cousin Carmen. Now, just look at the two pictures below and I think you can agree that there are uncanny similarities. For instance, red hair, fair skin, beautiful singers and both looking for their true love's kiss!

CARMEN

GISELLE

Carmen even sings for her animal friends, although they don't come as rapidly as in the movie (or at all). And hopefully our fun cousin Carmen will soon come and visit Utah...it'd be even greater if she moved here (hint hint Carmen! Love ya!)
