Pics of Jackson....and a couple especially for Jenny!

Well here are some pictures that we had professionally done. Yes professionally. We paid so much for them! Just kidding, Our fantastic neighbor Emily, took these pictures and here we are posting them on our blog! Oh and the cute angel outfit is from my Aunt Jenny in Colorado! Thanks Jenny!

Feelin' better!

Well, good news for us. Jackson is feeling a little better and so am I. On Sunday morning I woke up to a sore throat and headache which progressed into a stuffy nose. But, for the most part it has cleared up. I know Jackson is feeling better because last night he slept for 3 hours at a time and just woke up to eat and then fell back asleep all by himself. Oh, I was loving life! It makes such a difference to get 3 hours of solid sleep as opposed to 1.
So for the past couple of months- wait actually since Andrew and I have been married, Andrew has talked about getting a new tv. Now there is nothing wrong with the tv that we have, he just wants to have a bigger, nicer tv (ours was a hand-me-down- nothing wrong with that). Anyways, for his graduation we were going to go on a trip somewhere, but he decided that he would rather get a tv now. He said that if he gets a tv it can be his Christmas present, graduation present, birthday present, basically it will fill all present needs for the next little while. So I consented and he bought a new tv. This means rearranging the house though. Because he got a tv that wont fit into our entertainment center, so it sits on the piano. But, there is no need to keep the entertainment center in the living room so I have the chore of packing up the books that we won't reread and find places for everything that was on the entertainment center and piano. Hmm, I dont know where its going to go. The other problem is I am on a time limit. We have all of our family coming into town this weekend because Jackson is being blessed. How exciting. Ill get it done though. Even if it means throwing everything in the closet haha. (Thats how Andrew said to get it done quickly).
Oh and just an fyi we are kind of dressing Jackson up for Halloween tomorrow thanks to my wonderful visiting teacher Kelsey (Thanks Kelsey :)). What will he be? You will have to wait until tomorrow to see pictures- Im sure he'll be cute. I will say this though, it is nothing elaborate or fancy, but I think its cute for a tiny baby. How could he not? Andrew and I on the other hand are not dressing up. Andrew has to work and nobody comes trick or treating down here so whats the point in me dressing up? Anyways, look forward to pictures tomorrow.

Behold an angel? or an Intruder?

Okay, so about 5 minutes ago, Christina says, "Andrew will you put a movie on in the bedroom, so I can lay down in there?" So I did, when I'm in there, I here Christina say, "No this is not the office, its over there (pointing to the office)" So I walk over to see who I need to yell at AGAIN, and there is this 90 year old woman in our house!! (I didnt yell at her, she was so old she probably couldnt read the sign) She says, "Oh I thought this was the office, but I think I found the right place, I wanted to give you this." Then She handed Christina a homemade burpclothe, which is super fancy. We said thanks, and she closed the door and left. I went out the door to see if she was able to find what she was looking for, SHE WAS GONE!!!! There was no car anywhere, and there was nobody out there! I started freaking out. I said "Christina, it wasnt one of your dead great grandmothers was it? I know it wasnt mine, at least I think it wasn't?!"

So who knows who this sweet lady was who came to bring us a burpclothe, but if you know of an old lady wandering my neighborhood...let me know. I don't know if you can tell, but I think she was an angel/ghost/resurrected being...maybe one of our dead ancestors. I dont know. Heres the burpclothe.

Jackson has a cold :(

So Andrew has been sick for about the past week and a half. Magically Jackson got sick. Thanks Andrew! So Thursday night I could tell that Jackson wasn't feeling great. He just wanted to be held and was having a hard time sleeping. Well, Friday all day and night he was so congested and he is still congested today. Sad! Anyways, he is doing pretty good, but we can tell he just doesn't feel good. Since I have been the one staying up with him mostly during the night, Andrew has been watching him today so I could get a little break. Here are some pictures of him hanging out with Andrew in the kitchen. Yes, he is laying in his little bath tub. Andrew figured it was a good place to hold him while he did some dishes.

In other news, we have our first bushel of apples! My great grandpa has an apple tree and every fall we get tons and tons of apples! I guess its time to start baking apple pie- yeah that probably wont happen considering I have a sick newborn.

What a good looking kid

Here are pictures of Jackson that I took just today. Man, what a cute kid!

Can you not read?

Okay first I need to give some background. As most of you know, but some of you probably not, Andrew and I live onsite at a storage facility in an industrial area. Well across the street they are doing construction. So this afternoon I was sitting in my living room nursing Jackson and Andrew was on the phone paying some of the hospital bills and all of a sudden some guy says, "knock knock" while opening our door. I am like in complete and utter shock and don't understand what is going on (I mean hello, there is a "private" sign on our door and "its a boy" poster as well). Andrew gives the guy the look of death. I am trying to cover myself up- I mean I wasn't exactly modestly nursing Jackson- I am in my house. Anyways, the guy looks at me and is like, "oh sorry" and then looks at Andrew and says, "can you move the taurus." Andrew looks back at him and nods his head (he is still on the phone). He gets off the phone and I seriously thought he was going to kill the guy. He is so mad that he is shaking! He doesn't really say anything to me, but when he leaves the house he slams the door. He comes back and is shaking even worse! He tells me that the guy was like, "Sorry about that, but it must happen all the time." Andrew says that was when he really lost it. He said, "No actually! I have lived here for a year and a half and it has never happened! Thats why there is a private sign on there!" That was all that Andrew told me about. He just said, "I really let him have it." I dont know exactly what it means, but it couldn't have been good if he wouldn't tell me. There is only one other time since we have been together that I have seen him that mad. It was when we were at a football game and this guy behind me kept hitting me in the back as he was trying to get a tshirt. Andrew turned around, looked him straight in the eye and said, "You need to stop it! A tshirt is not worth it! You keep hitting my wife!" I seriously thought he was going to deck that guy.
Anyways, moral of the story, it takes a lot to get Andrew mad, so beware if you do because it will be a sad day for you.
(I know you guys were probably hoping for pictures. Ill take some and put them up)

Dr Appointment for Jackson

Yesterday Jackson had his 2 week appointment. He was really almost 3 weeks (20 days to be exact). The pediatrician said that he is doing great! He now weighs 8 lbs 12 oz (a full pound more than his birth weight) and he is 21 1/4 inches long (that is over 2 inches longer than his birth length). Here is a little video of Jackson just hanging out.

Here are a couple of pictures of him.

On Our Own

Well, sad day! Today my mom left and Andrew started work again (working at UVU he has been going to do his student teaching the whole time) so its now just Jackson and I (kinda scary!). Anyways, we had such a good time while she was here. She would take the night shift and just wake me up when Jackson needed to eat. The past couple of nights she has just let me sleep and she would bottle feed him (so nice to be able to get 5 straight hours of sleep!) Let me say that when her and Andrew are lacking sleep they sure do get quite crazy (notice that I said they, I am not included in the crazy part)! Lets just put it this way, we would end up staying up until midnight almost every night cracking up! Jackson is growing tons and is starting to "fill out" a little bit. Probably because he eats like every two hours! Sometimes more! Sometimes he thinks he needs a little snack in between meals. Cracks us up! Anyways here are some pictures from today.

Thanks for coming mom! We loved having you here and wish you could stay longer (not just because you kept my house clean, kept us fed, and took care of Jackson). We can't wait to see you in two and a half weeks (not that Im counting down or anything).

The things you get excited about...

So we have now had him for almost a week. It is funny how after you have a baby you become so excited over the strangest things. For instance poop and pee. The first couple of days of having him home we were worried he wasn't getting enough to eat because he wasn't having very many dirty diapers. That sure has changed. Anyways, we celebrated the first couple of times that he did. Other things that excite us, when he doesn't cry before he nurses, sleeping for 3 and a half hours at a time. Oh the little things!
Anyways, today he had his 6 day checkup to make sure all is going well. It was great to be able to get out of the house for a little bit today. So Jackson is doing fantastic! He is now 20 and 3/4 inches long (he was 19 inches at birth) and 7 lbs 4 oz (he was 7 lbs 12 oz at birth). The nurse told us that they lose weight after birth and Jackson had quite a bit of blood loss. Anyways, we will be giving him iron because he is anemic but other than that he is healthy and strong.
Here are some new pictures of him. He is showing his school spirit in the first one. My sister Nicole bought him the onesie and in the second Andrew and Jackson just hanging out watching tv.

Now that I figured out the video, i can put a bunch on here

So I think I need to clarify something before you watch this video. There is a little thing where you hear Christina's mom saying something about sitting on the toilet doing something, well she is talking about Christina sitting on the toilet while they bathe him so that everybody can fit in our small bathroom. So it isnt anything gross, its just her organizing. No big deal. Sorry for anybody that may have misinterpreted what was happening, I must say I did too, thats why I was like "Shhhhhh!" but then I soon realized what they were tlaking about, hahaha.

Oh the video

So here is a video of Jackson at the hospital, I know I said I was going to post it, and now i finally did.

More Pictures of Jackson

Well i was just sitting here with Jackson laying on me, and I thought I need to put some more pictures on here, and hey Im not in any of these ones with him. So here are two with me, and a couple others of him here at home watching the BYU game against Utah State on Tv, which we won.

More Pictures and a quick perspective from Christina

Well, Andrew is watching Jackson right now and Emily just sent me some more pictures, so I decided it is now my turn to write a post. I am so glad Jackson is here. Actually, the labor and delivery was not so bad at all. I was only in pain pain for about an hour and a half and then I had the epidural. Okay that was pretty painful Ill admit. The doctor kept saying, "keep still, keep very very still" but let me tell you, when he first put that needle in I dont know how anyone can stay still. He actually said after that, "I always tell people to stay still and yet they move!" Anyways, the whole procedure of getting the epidural only took about 10 minutes and after that I was in heaven!! No more pain! At one point though, I could only lay on my right side because of the way Jackson was sitting so the epidural medicine would not get to my left side so it was starting to hurt! Like tears welling up in the eyes kind of hurt, but I talked with the nurses (quick side note, I had the best labor and delivery nurses EVER!!) and I was able to switch over to my left side so that the medicine would get over there. Luckily Jackson tolerated that just fine and so I was able to get that side numb again before I had to start pushing. Let me tell you, that is the strangest yet most wonderful feeling. My nurses told me that most first time moms push for an average of 1 1/2- 2 hours. Holy cow that would be soo tiring! I was tired after the only 30 minutes that I pushed. Anyways, I was so very proud of Andrew! He was there right along side me the whole time. He even watched Jackson coming out! I didnt think he would be able to do that because he usually gets kind of queasy and whatnot, but he just kept saying how cool it was and would show me with his hands how much of Jacksons head was showing. It is such a neat experience to give birth and to have your husband right there along with you! I just cant describe it.
The next three pictures were taken by Emily and they were when Jackson was in the NICU and I was being taken down to the 4th floor- the well baby and mother floor. I dont know if Andrew mentioned about Jackson being in the NICU (I havent read all his posts), but he swallowed Meconium (basically he pooped while in the womb and swallowed it). They decided to take him to the NICU after he wasn't gaining color after I delivered him. They wanted to suction him out some more and give him some fluids. It was sad because I only got to hold him for like a couple of minutes and then he was gone for a couple of hours, but no worries, he is now doing very well!

If you can't tell, its my hand holding his little foot. He is kind of a funny baby. Every once in awhile he will just start to whimper and then cry for no apparent reason. But if you start talking to him and rubbing him, he stops. Cracks us up. He also makes a lot of noises..we think he likes to hear himself. Well, everything is going good. Andrew and Jackson are taking a little nap together right now. We hate to have to send him to the nursery. We sent him for a couple of hours because we were both exhausted! But anyways, we will keep posting pictures as we take them and whatnot. Thanks for everyones well wishes and concerns. Love ya all!

Jackson is finally Here!!!

There he is...Jackson Andrew Muffler. Wrighing in at a whopping 7 lbs 12 oz! With a height of 19 inches! Oh man it was so great! What a spiritual experience to see a child being born! Christina did awesome also, she only had to push for about 30 minutes or so, which was so good! Everything else went pretty good, nothing really too concerning. (he doesnt even have a cone head...well not a huge one at least) He does have 10 fingers and 10 toes (5 on each limb) and just like all the other mufflers, he hates staying awake past 9. haha! Wahoo! He's finally here!

Still Moving Along....Slowly

Well things havent been moving very fast. She received an epidural shot at about 3:00 because the contractions were starting to hurt. So now she feels a lot better. Later the nurses came and checked her and she was still only like 3 cm dialated. No big deal, she will just keep moving on, but it looks like its going to be a long night. Right now she is resting/trying to nap, but nothing else to exciting has happened. I will make sure to let you know on here as soon as everything happens.

She Went in This Morning!!!

Okay it says that this is Christina posting, but its not, shes a little busy right now, :) Yes she is in the hospital receiving Pitosin injections, on the monitor it says she is receiving 16 ml per minute. In fact I might have a cool picture about it. Anyways, Its me and Christina, and also Emily (shes the one taknig the pictures) but since I have so much time just sitting here, I thought "Hey I could post some of the pictures."

The end is here!!!

So I went to the doctor today. The bad news was that my blood pressure was higher (148/98) and I had more protein in my urine then before, but the good news is that I am going to be induced first thing tomorrow morning. With everything going on, my doctor decided it is better to not wait any longer and to just induce me!!! I did make it to 2 1/2 cm dilated so thats good. She said that my cervix still isn't optimal for induction, but it doesnt make sense to keep going on now. I have a non stress test today at 2:00. My doctor did say that if my blood pressure is higher or if there are problems when we do the non stress test then she will want to induce today. She wants to wait until tomorrow morning that way I won't be pushing in the middle of the night, but if things arent looking good then it will be this afternoon. How crazy! After all the waiting we are finally going to have our baby boy!! If you can't tell Im excited and so happy to know that I am done! No more bedrest!! Well, I will probably be resting a lot but it wont be mandatory!
